EUF’s unique comparative Legal Study 2024

The EUF’s unique overview analysis of the legal and regulatory environments in Europe, and several important comparator countries, has been fully updated with an extensive review and revision of the EU 27 member countries’ positions. This study offers a comprehensive overview of the current legal landscape and remains the only document of its kind available to the Industry, its regulators and lawmakers, associated support service providers and anyone with an interest in the effective finance of business. The 2024 EUF Legal Study is comprised of 15 sets of questions (including sub-questions) which investigate the key aspects of receivables finance and factoring, and its value lies in bringing this important information together in one place for thorough analysis, comparison and review. The new study is a substantial development from the previous edition, with further in-depth analysis and now with more than four hundred pages of important detailed data and commentary.

The EUF Legal Study is available on the websites of both the EUF and FCI for their respective members and can be obtained by others on application to the EUF Secretariat.

Fausto Galmarini, Chairman of the EUF, noted: “This latest updated edition of the EUF Legal Study is a continuation of the EUF’s practice of providing information and data on factoring in order to further the common understanding of the chances and challenges for the Factoring and Commercial Finance industry. The EUF sees its role in supporting the factoring industry and thereby assisting the real economy in Europe, backing the growth of businesses of all sizes, but especially SMEs, as well as fostering the economy in general. The EUF Legal Study also provides further insight to the factoring industry for all European authorities and thereby offers assistance for their decision-making processes.”

The 2024 EUF Legal Study will be presented at the 10th European Factoring Summit in Copenhagen on 10-11 April 2025.
